We are the story tellers, we are the Communicators, we are musicians.
As musicians we have the gift to be that story teller, to carry that tune, to bring to the listener and ourselves something very special.
In this session we shall be working together to understand just how to unlock our Creativity through Storytelling. We shall explore together well known tunes that are simple to understand musically, while deepening our understanding of their harmonic structure dynamics, repeated motifs and more.
When we can relate to the character of the music as a storyteller our world opens up and we see Mozart’s or Poulenc’s sonata in a totally different way. This is our goal to take what we know and bring our understanding to another level.
To begin let's look at all the repertoire based on animals. Below please find a list of one piece you might know or wish to learn. Become the Swan, the Donkey, the Chicken, the Bumble bee….

Being the communicator …
Moving on from the familiar and into uncharted territory of exploring new pieces can sometimes block our musical sense and understanding.
In this session we will build understanding musically, the character of the piece, which may look hidden, but is always there.
As we look at and play through our repertoire it is a world of discovery. You will begin to see patterns within the music, which all add to the beauty and excitement of our chosen piece of repertoire.
What is the composor showing us stylistically? We are the communicators, we are the messengers, we are the musician...
