Do you hear what I hear?  How understanding harmony opens up our ears and musical lines within our playing.

Do you hear what I hear when I am playing and the ability to play your favourite piece of music bringing out the melody verses passing tones ?  

Every piece of music, whether an etude, simple tune or one of your favourite classical pieces has a form and structure to it.  Understanding where the musical line is going and the harmony beneath it, helps take us away from the difficulties when playing a piece. 

Remember, we play a one lined instrument and one who plays the top line in ensembles. 

When we begin to understand harmonic structure, which is basically made up and scales and arpeggios, a new freedom emerges with our playing.  Our ears open … 

In this session we shall work together on your and my favourite pieces to see and understand the simple harmonic structure, thus freeing your difficulties of intonation, low notes and those leaps up and down the flute.
