Let’s Spring forward with Reels, Scales and more...
Triplets, tonguing, that light crisp touch...a flutist’s dream...
In this session we shall be working together on all this and more.
Starting with playing our scales in triplets (think the word Blu-be-ry)…. we shall work together on how to click into that triplet rhythm.
Whether you approach these triplet scales with triple, single tonguing, legato or a mixture of all, we can sometimes find ourselves tripping up as it is something normally not practiced in our daily routine.
So are you ready to start getting a bit more adventurous and getting more secure technically? This is a sure fire way to achieve this.
How about adding some etudes and pieces using this nice light and solid rhythmic technique.
When approaching playing Mozart, Telemann, an Irish jig or simple tune, these elements are the same. Good rhythm, clear light tonguing and in tune playing.

Scales: Taffanel & Gaubert pg.EJ 3 Section B (Please use a light tongue, keeping fingers close to the keys, practicing with different articulations).
