Lady Galway Adult Learner Session - Tuesday, 26 November 7pm - 8.30pm CET

Trill time…

Have you ever practiced trills?  Do you understand trills?

Trills are very special ornaments, and a beautiful addition to our musical performance.

A trill can bring us to our great finale or give us the calm of ending a special moment within the music.  All with the simplest of movement - 2 notes.

But we need to practice our trills!

In this class we shall review our scales and introduce the way to practice and understand trills as well as the grace ones that attach themselves ot the trills!

It is not a question of ‘how many wiggles’. Like all other aspects of music the careful placement within the musical line without distorting the rhythm or line of the music is imperative to a good performance.

Exercises: Boehm - Twelve Grand Studies op. 15 number 3

We will be working with the following Repertoire during this session:

Handel Sonata No, 8 in F Major Larghetto & Allegro

Chaminade Concertino

This session will be recorded and available to view until 31st January 2025.
