Developing our Low Notes …. Your embouchure position is the key.
Once again we need to understand exactly where and what our embouchure does when playing in our low register. There are so many wonderful possibilities to developing & enjoying a rich, full, low register. One that is always there when you need it!
This session we will also explore the use of dynamics, various tone colour possibilities and overall confidence of never having a 'hit or miss' situation, but playing with assurance that your low notes will always be here for you!
Books we will be referring to:
Moyse - De La Sonorite, Page 10
Galway - 5 Finger exercise
Single Tonguing & Legato with descending patterns of 2, 3, 4 & 5 notes, in our low register
Repertoire for this lesson:
Fauré Pavane
In addition : I would like you to choose a piece that you love using your low register or maybe you have a piece of repertoire which poses challenges of moving form your high register to your low register?
The solution is simple. Understanding your embouchure movement with the use of the bottom jaw. Getting that bottom lip out of the way!!!! After all, we do need to get our air down into the flute!
This session will be recorded and available to view until 31 January 2025.
